We Have an App for That!

 Well, not for God directly but you get the idea.

Welcome to the CLC Church App, powered by Tithely, our online giving provider. Actually, Tithely provides lots of services for churches, not just online giving. We are starting to explore more of what they have to offer. But this is not an ad for them but rather a “Thank You” that they are working to support congregational ministries AND give ELCA congregations a deep discount. So, let’s dive in.

We’ve been talking about creating a smartphone/tablet app for our congregation for quite some time. There are some obvious advantages: watching worship services right on your phone, listing and responding to prayer requests, checking the church calendar, and giving an offering with a touch of your screen. Those were the first things to come to mind but, as you’ll see, there’s even more to enjoy. And there’s this blog, of course, where I will keep you updated on everything going on in the Central Lutheran world.

We hope to use this app as an outreach tool as well. Once we launch, I hope you will share it with your friends or anyone who might be interested in learning more about our congregation. 

Take some time to explore around the app. And don’t forget to check the menu bar along the bottom of your screen for “News Feed.” This will show you at a glance everything that’s happening on the app with the latest thing listed at the top. 

The full launch will be the beginning of September, but we are happy to have you, our “beta testers,” helping us finetune things. Enjoy and give us your feedback!

Oh, and you remember how our worship slides used to say, "God is calling you but not on your cell phone"? Well, now, who knows? :-)
